Did you know that just one organ and tissue donor can transform the lives of 10 or more people?

At any one time there are around 1600 people on the Australian organ transplant waiting lists! Even so, many people (40% of Australians) have not discussed their donation decision with their family.*

A series of free school education resources are now available here for Teachers about organ and tissue donation for Reception to Year Six students. The resources are aligned to the Australian Curriculum.

Organ and tissue donation saves lives, but its also a highly personal and sensitive topic, and one that raises many questions, especially for the young. It’s important for our children to start to think about their organs, what they are for and what happens if they become ill, and discuss their questions with their teachers, parents and caregivers in a supportive and engaging environment.
